There are many methods for storing food that has been dehydrated. When storing dehydrated foods, it's recommended to follow the general storage suggestions. These are:
The process that is performed after the food products are dried is the following:
- Freezer bags, zip-locks bags or airtight containers are the most recommended to use when packaging dried foods. Anything that is sealed and is hard for moisture or air to get in is the best choice
- Obtain storage-quality, heavy duty or seal-able plastic bags from local profitable packaging retailers
- Store dried food products in dry and cool areas that are away from direct sunlight.
- When storing dried foods do not mix the different foods, have them in different packages. Avoid mixing flavors as cross-contamination may be a problem
- Throw away any moldy foods. Don't take any chances in using them or eating them, don't feed them to any animals either
